How to wear: jumpers

Now that it’s coming into autumn and winter, my instant thoughts are JUMPERS! I love a good woolly jumper that’s comfy and cosy and I’m going to share a few of my favourites and also some tips on how to wear them! (and please excuse my recycled plastic coat hangers, I know they are a bit boring!)

A few of my favourite jumpers are from H&M (one of my favourite shops), Next and Mountain Warehouse (random, I know!)

The first one is from H&M. I picked this up in the sale for £10. It’s quite light, so you can wear it all year round, which I love. This is definitely the thinnest, but I just adore it so much. The cream colour isn’t too white, so enhances my summer tan, but doesn’t wash me out, which white tends to do. This is probably my favourite, and I wear it all the time.

The second and last are from Next. They are really cute and I like to wear both of them differently. The meow one is much thicker and I tend to wear either a vest or t-shirt underneath. I think it’s really warm and fluffy. The second, the dog one, says “le chien” on it which means the dog in French! This is much thinner and looks great with a collared blouse or casual shirt.  It just provides a little extra warmth. To me this jumper screams Christmas (it’s what I wore on Christmas day last year).

The next 2 are from Mountain Warehouse and are the same style, just different colours. I saw these them in the sale and picked them up. They are so thick and comfy, great for those indoor ‘not really doing anything’ kind of days. I’m actually wearing the turquoise one today and had to take it off to take the picture!

Now, jumpers can look great, but sometimes they are not the most flattering. If you’re wearing baggy trousers and a baggy jumper, it tends to make you look a little fat. Some people can pull it off, but generally I avoid it. The way I like to style them is by wearing shorts and tights. Obviously if it’s hot, don’t bother with the tights, but I love the way it looks. I tend to wear black tights and black or navy shorts. I love denim shorts, without tights is best. I also love to pair jumpers with skater skirts, skinny jeans and SCARVES. I love a good scarf and they look so chic and keep you warm. They are a winner!

So, a summary of my thoughts:
·         Baggy jumper, but not trousers
·         Shorts, tights and scarves all the way

·         Sometimes it’s better to be warm than look trendy!
