Pretty in pink

Coming into the spring, a colour regularly featured in looks, is pink. It’s a universally flattering shade with a wide range, so there’s a colour for every skin tone. There are blue tones, warm and cool tones, with many textures, brands, finishes and prices- so there’s truly something for everyone. If you want some pretty and pink recommendations, look no further…

First, let’s talk lips. It’s the easiest way to pull a poppy look, with little effort required. For an opaque, creamy lipstick, the Bourjois rouge edition lipstick in 40 Rose incognito is a simple nude pink, with moisturising formula with superb pigmentation. The rich formula has a tendency to slide a little on the lips due to the creaminess, but that can be forgiven for the delightful, brightening colour.

If you prefer a gloss, over matte lip, I really recommend the Tanya Burr lip-glosses. The formula is faultless, and for a light pink, glossy lip, I will either reach for ‘picnic in the park’ for a more bold coral pink, or ‘smile, dream, sparkle’ for something a little more lilac and sparkly. And, they’re only £6.99!

If however, neither of these meets your needs of a sheer and tinted lip balm; give the Benefit posiebalm a whirl. It whilst being sheer, it provides a pastel wash of colour and is a great slap on and go product as you know it will work with any look.

A little pink liner in the waterline is a pretty alternative to a nude shade, and has a similar effect of brightening and opening up the eye area.

Pink eye shadow can be difficult to pull off, but Urban Decay makes it undoubtedly easy with their Naked 3 palette. Not only is there a great matte cream highlight, ‘strange’, but also a fabulous glittery purple, ‘buzz’ and not forgetting ‘nooner’, a warm, pink brown. The shade ‘burnout’, a satin peach, is also a great all over the lid colour. These shadows are smooth, buttery and pigmented, with outstanding quality. If however, you want something more subtle, try adding a little pink blush to the crease instead.

Speaking of pink blush, the Bourjois blush in Golden pink is also a beautiful shimmery pink that brightens up the face. The golden shimmer catches the light in a subtle way that doesn’t look too glittery, but there’s no need for extra highlight.

A few pink recommendations for the upcoming spring!
