Skin in the winter often gets dry, de-hydrated and flaky. Whilst not everyone has dry skin, during the winter your skin may need a bit of a boost of hydration. Any skin type can benefit from a bit of moisture
in the colder months. A mixture of deep hydration skincare and lighter,
oil free moisture is best, so the skin is never overloaded.
Starting with moisturisers, a really good nourishing moisturiser is the No7 day cream
for dry skin. It has a very thick consistency that you really have to work into
the skin. It is really moisturising, but a little too greasy for
overnight.
A lightweight
moisturiser, that not only matifys but hydrates the skin is the Garnier Moisture Match for oily skin. It provides a simple light layer that helps you and your make-up stay shine free. The Olay Night cream and the Body shop
Vitamin E aqua boost sorbet, are relatively similar, as they both provide a refreshing, but moisturising feel that is super fresh on the skin.
For
lip balm, Vaseline is a staple in any girls beauty stash. It’s a great, intense
lip balm that works wonders. The Body shop lip roll-on is also really lovely. It gives a light layer of glossy moisture that sinks in fast.
Face
masks are an essential for dry skin. The Body shop vitamin E sink in moisture
mask is really good at hydrating the skin, but isn’t too much that your skin becomes
greasy. The Bamboo moisture mask is also a favourite, but that is sadly discontinued.
You
shouldn’t forget eye cream and the Body shop elderflower eye gel
and the Superdrug Vitamin E radiance eye cream are both hydrating and protect the eye area- which is very delicate. The Superdrug Vitamin E radiance eye cream is a bit thicker and
heavier than the Body shop, which is more refreshing.
This may be a skincare favourites, but hand cream definately deserves a mention. Cold weather causes hand to become dry and chapped, so make sure you take care of them. Some of my favourites
are the Body shop almond hand and nail cream, the Body shop strawberry hand cream
and the Greenland lime and vanilla hand cream, which all not only smells
amazing but also hydrates really well.
If your skin is suffering in the colder months, hopefully this small collection of products helps you and your skin!
