Tinted Lip Balms

A light tinted lip balm is perfect for summer. It moisturises with a good colour pay-off and natural stain. Not only does this give an effortless, Parisian look, they are easy to apply on the go- small and portable, easy and transferable from look to look. They can go from day, to night, work, to party. Here's a few of my favourites, two classics, one new kid on the block.

POP OF PASSION:

Starting with a brand new release from Bare Minerals, their Pop of Passion Oil tinted lip balm. After spotting these beautiful colourful tubes, covered in stunning flower imprint and chrome embellished writing, they caught my eye instantly. Capturing the flavours of summer with light and brights, this lippy range sparkles and shines from the counters. A few neutral nudes, stand by a rainbow of flourishing bolds. Whilst the bold colours may seem intimidating, the moisturising finish is very subtle and easy to wear.

Let's talk formula. The finish is relatively glossy with a little shine. This is caused by the oily formula, making it quite slippy on the lips. However, I find this quite pleasant, as it really does nourish. It also makes the bright pigment easy to blend and smooth into the lips. Once the moisture fades, you are left with an incredible stain that's not going anywhere. Seriously, I've eaten, drunk hot chocolate and this has not budged.

Over all, big thumbs up for the Pop of Passion Lip Balms from me.

POSIE BALM:

2014 saw the release of Benefit's tinted lip balm range, in correspondence with their cheek tints. They were relatively controversial in the blog-o-sphere. Some disliked due to their simplicity- they are nothing new or different, and over priced for what they were, and the pigment delivered (very little). However, that's why I like them. The simplicity of a sheer pink lip balm with lots of nourishment and glow is perfect for everyday.

The packaging is a little chunky for my liking, but the chrome finish does feel luxury and sparkly. However, the matte flower print incorporates Benefit's fun and playful aspect to the brand. Pair this with a smoky eye, no make-up make-up or winged liner, this lip balm will match any look.

JUICY PAPAYA:

Revlon has hit the nail on the head with their iconic Lip Butters. The thick creamy formula blends over the lips- half lipstick, half balm. Juicy Papaya is one of many spectacular shades in the range. A soft peach coral featuring a super subtle, sun lit gloss over lay. This summery shade complements a tan and enhances those pearly whites.

Who knew a criss- cross pattern across a plastic tube could have such an influence over the overall casing of a lipstick. It brings class and a high end look to something that's perfect for a small budget. The coloured tube also helps differentiate from other lipsticks in storage and helps find the perfect shade in store.

Keep a little colour and moisture by your side this year, with your favourite tinted lip balm!
