Starting
out in makeup is exciting and intriguing. But when you’re new to everything, it can be a bit overwhelming. If you need a few tips on what to buy, where from and why, then check out these few tips for some advice.
Tip. 1- What do you
need?
This
might seem like an obvious one, but take a step back and look at your skin.
If it’s absolutely perfect (then lucky you), you’re not going to need a
concealer. If you’re brows are defined already, don’t buy a brow pencil. It
might seem obvious, but buy a few things you need and then add to your
collection slowly but surely.
Tip. 2- Capsule
collection
Its definitely a good idea to start out with a few bits and bobs that give you a more
polished look that doesn’t look overdone. If you’ve never worn makeup before,
starting out with a smoky eye probably isn’t what you want to go for. Most people need: concealer, mascara, blush (cream or powder depending
on your skin type) and something for the lips, whether its lipstick, lip-gloss
or even just a lip balm. Also, don't start with really expensive
products, try some cheaper ones first. If you would like a capsule
makeup bag post, then let me know in the comments.
Tip. 3- Good tools
This
might seem a bit random, but getting good brushes can really change the way
your makeup looks. Why not start out with a brush set, which have
the basics in. A good starting place for tools would be Real
techniques and Eco tools.
Tip. 4- Enjoy and
experiment
It’s really important to enjoy makeup and experiment with different
colours and textures. Makeup is something that you can express yourself in so
try out some different looks and see which one you like most. If you want some inspiration, I will link a
few looks here and here.
Tip. 5- Take care
of your skin too!
It’s
not all about the makeup, you need to take care of your skin too. Getting a
good skincare routine is really important. If you dont take you're makeup off, it could lead to a break out or eye infection. For some skincare tips, here is a complete routine. You don’t need to do all of those steps, but a must have is a cleanser, toner and moisturiser.
I
really hope that this post was helpful for those who are starting out in
makeup.
