Benefit Rollerlash Mascara
Super-curling and lifting mascara? Dream curl? Sounds like the perfect mascara. These are just a few bold claims Benefit's new Roller Lash mascara makes. Benefit has launched Roller Lash with amazing advertising and seemingly gimmicky packaging- referencing a hair roller. But does it live up to its claims...
THE CLAIMS:
Super-curling and lifting
'Hook 'n' roll' brush
Catches, lifts and curls
97% said it lifts lashes
87% said it gives long lasting curl
94% said eyes look more wide open
The packaging looks classy, but playful, very Benefit. The wand holds just the right amount of product. I love the pink and black colour scheme- it goes perfectly with the theme of hair rollers. The consistency isn't too wet or dry- just right.
I was interested to see whether I wouldn't need lash curlers- they are usually something I use everyday. Benefit's patent pending 'hook 'n' roll' brush is surprisingly effective with easy control. It truly does grip the lashes. In regards to curling them, it does! It gives a very similar result to when I use curlers.
This mascara gives wide, long and fluttery lashes. Your eyes are dramatic and striking without being clumpy or spidery.
I was initially sceptical on the claims, but having tried it myself I am impressed. Well done Benefit! I love how it visibly lifts the lashes, curls quickly and is long lasting. The lashes look plumped and lengthened. For day time, one coat gives wide eyes and long lashes, whilst two coats gives a little more drama.
It is water- resistant, not water proof, which I found works really well. It but won't come off with cold water, but the formula allows it to be easily removed with warm water and your regular cleanser.
The Roller Lash mascara releases in March. If you want to try it, Elle has a sample free in this month's edition. Will you try Benefit's Roller Lash?
