Today I am doing a review on some awesome nail polishes from Barry M, called the ‘Gelly’s’. If you don’t know already Barry M do awesome nail stuff. I love their glitters and the original nail paints but today I am talking about the Gelly high shine nail paint (I’m not sure why they call them nail paints?)
The
Barry M Gelly nail paints are a really shiny, thick and opaque formula that I
find lasts a long time on me. I love the colour range, although some may find
it a bit bright. But there are a few neutral ones, lychee, almond, olive and
coconut. They are only £3.99 which I think is a pretty good bargain! I know
that I’m not the only one who loves them though. They are really popular and loads
of my friends love them too.
Personally
I don’t think the packaging is awful, but it’s not the best. The brush isn’t as
wide as it could be, I love Essie brushes and also the Bourjois 1 second
brushes, but it’s not awful. It’s quite thin and round and with 2 thin coats or
1 thick one, I think they’re pretty good in terms of opaqueness (is that even a
word?!)
I
find that the longevity is pretty good and lasts about a week on me and by the
end there’s a few chips and it’s time to come off. Some people say they stain
the nails, I haven’t found that they have too badly, but I thought I’d mention
that I would recommend using a base coat.
My
favourite colours (in the picture, left to right) are papaya (light peachy
coral), coconut (cream), blueberry (darker blue), huckleberry (pastel blue) and
green berry (turquoise). Those are my favourites (you can tell I love blue) but
my sister loves blood orange and my friend loves prickly pear as well. On the
subject of names, they are all named after fruit which I think is really cute!
I
love the Barry M Gelly nail polishes; I think they are such a good bargain with
brilliant colours and longevity. I’m not sure where they are available in the
world but they are definitely in England. I hope that this was a helpful
review!
