With
the first month of 2015 over, spring not far off and February merely a day
away, it was time to share a few favourites from the month.
Starting
with a classic, Holy Grail item that is outstanding in the beauty industry- the
naked palettes. Naked 3, my personal favourite, is the pinkest of the bunch and
a look that’s easy, effective and casual consists of: ‘Liar’, ‘Mugshot’, ‘Limit’,
‘Strange’ and ‘Burnout’. Simply apply ‘Strange’ as a base all of the lid, blend
a mixture of ‘Liar’ and ‘Mugshot’ halfway across the lid and a little into the
crease too. Blend this out with ‘Limit’ in the crease and use ‘Burnout’ as a
centre of the lid highlight. It gives a slightly messy, blended bronze eye that
is perfect for a day look.
If
you prefer your eye shadow a little more fuss free, another look that is
perfectly pink, is using ‘burnout’ from the naked 3 palette and a blush from
Avon- plum puff. ‘Burnout’ is a perfect peachy, satin highlight for the centre
of lid and inner corner and plum puff acts as a really nice purple crease
shade.
For
the cheeks, the HD brows powder base in the shade 3 is the perfect all in one
contour and bronze. It’s not too cool or warm and adds a realistic shadow
underneath the cheekbone. Because it’s a powder foundation, it blends
seamlessly into the skin, creamy and soft. Whilst not being the cheapest,
bronzer can be worth the extra spend, otherwise it might look muddy or orange.
A
blush to match? Try the Bourjois powder blush in golden rose for a slightly
sheeny pink glow. It’s a very natural, blend able and great for subtle
highlight and delicate blush. The warm pink with gold shimmer warms the skin
without a need for lots of bronzer.
Some
of you may remember this first impressions of the Bare Minerals multi-tasking
concealer, which can also be used as a foundation. Over the course of a month,
I LOVE IT. It is smooth, sinks into the skin like silk and is very creamy and
velvety. There will be a new update very soon.
For a
post winter, almost spring lip colour that injects a bit of life into the
January blues, why not try the Body shop colour crush lipstick in 15 blended as
a stain and top it with the Benefit posiebalm for a little gloss over top.
If you’re
nails are in need of a bit of TLC from the Christmas glitter or simply need a
subtle glossy shine, try the Avon gold strength nail polish. It adds a natural
glow and keeps the nails well looked after.
A
few picks and recommendations for the upcoming month.
