Floral nail art

Lusting after the perfect nails for the upcoming season? Look no further. Whilst nail art may seem complicated, these surprisingly easy few steps create a polished and professional look, that’s girly and seasonal too. Bright and bold colours instantly attract the eye to your manicure and are perfect for spring and summer.

THE ESSENTIALS:
  • A pastel mint
  • A hot fuchsia
  • An eye-catching turquoise
  • A pretty peach
  • A bold plum
  • A clear base and top coat
  • A nail art tool

Step 1
Start by painting all the nails in a smooth, even layer of a clear base coat. This will not only protect the nails by creating a layer between your nails and the polish, but allow your manicure to last a little longer.

Step 2
As a traditional spring colour, mint is a fabulous base for any designs you have planned for on top. It is bright, fun and feminine. Paint all of the nails in two even coats of your chosen polish, for an opaque and long lasting finish.

Step 3
Using your dotting tool, create 3 or 4 evenly spaced dots on the nail, leaving space around them. They should be going gradually from the tip to the base of the nail, but focusing on the end. A mixture of your chosen colours is best. These will be the centre of your flowers.

Step 4
To create the petals, use slightly bigger circles around the dots, with opposite colours. The flowers shouldn’t be too big or overlap, but not too spread out either.

Step 5
To create the stems, use a brush rather than a dotting tool, that’s dipped in black polish. Then carefully draw on a few curved lines that spread from the tip of the nail, to the flower heads. Be careful, this can be difficult to correct.

Step 6
Finally apply a clear top coat to lock and seal in your design. This will prevent chips and help your nail art last longer.

A chic and pretty nail art for spring, in a few simple and easy steps.
