As the weather starts to warm up, beating the unwanted sweat and oil is difficult task, especially if you want a low maintenance look. Unfortunately there is a difference between a natural glow and a sweaty look, the latter not being as pleasant. Here are a few of my favourite ways to achieve a matte look...
PRIMER:
Primer offers a blank, smooth canvas for make-up and whilst some add an additional glow, try a matifying, silicone based product. These can also come in the form of pore minimisers, a favourite of mine being the Body shops tea tree primer. After regular use I have noticed a minimisation of my pores.
POWDER:
Powder is essential to keeping a matte finish and helping your makeup last longer too. For a slightly sheerer, sheenier finish, try the Bare Minerals original foundation and for a fuller coverage and more matte finish try the Bare Minerals multi-tasking concealer. These products are also super quick and easy to apply.
WATERPROOF:
Whilst waterproof products arent specifically matifying, they do help keep a polished and sophisticated look. If possible, try to get as many waterproof products as possible. However, mainly eye liner and mascara. (I love No7 Extreme length, Benefit Rollerlash and Rimmel Waterproof Khol Kajal)
APPLICATION:
Applying your products by pressing them into the skin. This will help them last better on the skin and therefore absorb more oils.
TOUCH UPS:
Keeping a small powder compact or blotting papers by your side is best to stay matte all day! Bare Minerals foundation has a small cover that can be twisted to reveal the product or left locked. This ensures it doesn't get too messy.
Those are my tips for the weather warming up, so put on your shades and stay cool!
