5 Red Lipsticks

Red lipstick is one of those iconic products, with different tones, shades, finishes and formulas, and today's post is all about my favorites in this category. Mattes and glosses, pinks and bolds, cheap and expensive, there's something for everyone in this group of favorite reds lipsticks and lip glosses. Especially with the Christmas season here already, these are ideal for the festivities!

Starting with Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Balm, a sheer, moisturizing formula and an incredible stain powder keeps 'Punch Pop' looking fab all day long, with a fuchsia tint too. Blend softly for subtle shine and gloss. The pretty packaging, with flower imprint, adds a playful hint and beautiful rosy hint to the lips. Swipe or dab depending on color saturation desired.

Bourjois 'Red Sunrise' is similar in tone to Bare Minerals, but with a pigmented finish, and slippy shine. This has a similar stain, but lasts not half as well. Crayon form lip sticks are great transferable products to apply on the go, quick color and shine in one easy application.

A favourite among bloggers, Rimmel 111, has good reason to be. A bold, matte cherry red, this is a shade that could be transferred to many different skin tones and still look just as striking. This does require top ups throughout the day, and unlike Bare Minerals, its lasting power is limited when crossed with food and drink. An incredible drugstore offering, that defines the perfect red.

A sheer red gloss is a fabulous introduction to reds, as the sheer texture is easy wear. Whilst a super pigmented gloss can slip and slide around a bit, this applys and lasts incredibly well on the lips. You're probably wondering what I'm rambling on about, and it's the Models Own Lip Gloss. With quite heavy pink and coral tones, this shade works on most skin tones.

In contrast, a thick, creamy magenta gloss is a lovely alternative to a matte red, and Tanya Burr's 'Heart skipped a beat' delivers just that. Moisturizing, with plenty of pigment, shine and glow, this is a lovely shade for beginners that still want impact.

I love red lipstick, especially paired with matte skin and some liquid liner. It can be styled naturally or with plenty of boldness and drama. Classic, timeless and forever on- trend, everyone needs a red in their collection.
