My Eyebrow Routine

After months of growing out my eyebrows to a Cara Delegvine/Lily Collins style brow, I've finally reached a stage in which I feel they are far more shapeful and defined. Whilst not as desired, they are much bolder and stronger. Big brows are in right now, so I thought I'd share a few tips regarding my routine and styling process...

HAIR REMOVAL:

Growing out your eyebrows is a long and dubious business. The best, easiest and cheapest solution is to simply stop removing hair from the eyebrow zone. Feel  free to continue plucking, waxing, threading, or your preferred method of choice, to any unaffected areas (i.e. in between the brows), but leave above and underneath the brows tweezer free.

I would also recommend to remove trimming from your routine too. Trimming reduces density and leaves un-even gaps- which creates more work for your product.

For the first few weeks, it is very difficult. Random, stray hairs pop up and there is a strong temptation to pluck them. But resist- it will be worth it in the long run. Add little hair like strokes through sparse areas to blend strays in. Try not to go too crazy though- keep it looking natural. Don't worry about other little hairs, no one will notice them. Slowly build up density and fullness over time.

PRODUCT:

Fill in gaps with a light hand and well matched pencil and brush for natural shape, soft and blended pigment. Make sure there are no harsh lines and be careful at the front of the brows, using very little product and making sure to blend well.

There are plenty of products out there for different effects, but a classic pencil will suit most shapes and abilities. Soap and Glory's Archery is a great duplicate for the coveted Anastasia Brow Wiz, not available here in the UK and a little pricey too. 'Hot Chocolate' suits my coloring perfectly, with 'Blonde shell' as a lighter, ashy alternative. Use the thin nib to create small, undetectable strokes.

If you fancy texture and volume, use a tinted brow gel or clear mascara to hold everything in place give that extra boost of thickness.

Lightly shape and grow out your brows for natural definition and depth for the face. This will allow that modern thickness everyone is craving!
